OK, after 24-or-so hours of work I have my web site up and running on a new host... mostly. My former host lost connectivity on Monday and I grew increasing suspicious about how they were handling it... until I lost all patience yesterday and signed up with a new hosting company.
All that's left is for me to get the web message board/forum (Mimple Machines Forum - http://www.simplemachines.org/) up and running. I'll probably need to call their tech support for that tomorrow because I'm not a PHP/MySQL expert, to put it mildly.
