Yes, Markus' toning is reminiscent of Michael Kenna's toning palette.  
I was at the Steven Wirtz Gallery in SF last Friday ... they're the  
local hub for MK's work since they represent him in this area ... and  
enjoyed a half hour studying about ten of his photographs on display  
there. Wonderful stuff, MK has a superb eye.
