The difference in maximum aperture between the two lenses is about
two-thirds of a stop. At maximum aperture, and including the focal
length difference, that amounts to a total of 2.5 inches difference
in acceptably sharp focus zone wide open at 10 foot distance.

Quickshift is worth much more to me than those small differences.
It's a judgement call, certainly, but I am generally exposing at f/4
at least anyway, even for portraits, to obtain enough DoF. :-)
