No. You didn't have too much to drink. Well, maybe you did:-)) But  
you're right, they do look like elephant's trunks. It was very cold,  
but the sun was brilliant, and it melted some of the snow on the  
roof. As soon as it fell onto the ivy in the garden, it froze again.  
Thus the ice scuptures. I had spent a couple hours in town looking  
for photo ops without much success. I spotted this when I came home  
and parked my car.
