I'm neither out of my mind or BS'ing you. Stop-down metering works just
fine for me. But my requirements aren't yours.

I care about TTL flash, winders are useful as well. I don't really give
a flying fuck about open-aperture metering or composition. It's just not
an issue for me. I don't get below f5.6 unless forced to, and at f5.6
and wider open-aperture is not an issue (in fact, several of my M42
lenses need to be stopped down 1-2 stops to focus easily due to lack of
contrast wide-open. My Helios 44-2 and Kenlock 135/2.8 most notably, but
even my ST 105/2.8 benefits from being stopped down a stop for focusing)

And you're dreaming if you think that a M42 full-frame DSLR is ever
going to be made. There's no market, most M42 shooters today are either
using them as an addition to their K mount kit or mixing and matching
different mounts on EOS. Neither is going to give up compatibility with
their other glass to get open-aperture composition on a FF M42 DSLR for
the non-cheap cost that you're going to be stuck with for full-frame.

If an M42 DSLR ever happens (and I don't expect it) it will be a
Voightlander Bessaflex with a 1.5x crop sony sensor in it, from Cosina.
