I believe you CAN do the same aperture priority (stopped down of course on BOTH canon and pentax - yukky). on Pentax DSLRs as you can the Canon with adapters.
Your crazy on the TTL flash and superfast winders, those are unimportant frills compared to ability to use your M42 lenses with automatic aperture function. I would never trade off automatic aperture function of M42 lenses just for TTL flash and/or superfast winders. So in my honest, and long time M42 user opinion the the CANONs are LESS functional than film M42 SLRS, not more functional on the functions that really matter and greatly affect user friendlyness, e.g. automatic aperture. This is why I would love to see a M42 DSLR, preferably FF too, as these could be excellent usable cameras, and stop down would only be needed for metering, not shooting. Shooting could still be full automatic aperture with any auto aperture M42 lens, and there are TONS of them out there. jco -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Adam Maas Sent: Wednesday, February 14, 2007 1:30 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: Pentax K 28mm f2.0 Lens Actually, since the Canon's do continuous metering in Manual and Aperture Priority along with TTL flash (including wireless multi-group flash) they're more functional than Pentax DSLR's with M42 lenses (which offer metering only via the green button hack or DoF preview and no TTL flash with non-A lenses). In fact they're also more functional than any M42 slr, courtesy of offering TTL flash and fast motor drives, things that never existed on M42 SLR's (winders yes, 5+fps, no). -Adam J. C.
