Same problem with my Nikon files. Three cameras all within a 1000 or
so of each other.

D200 and D2H,I can rename the start of the file in camera. Thats a
neat feature i hoped would have been on the K10D.
D1H and D1 i cannot, but like you i have file folders for each camera and year
