Hmm. I have to disagree. I was very very hot to buy an R8 around 1998 ... it's a big, beefy camera but if you have large hands like mine it is *perfectly* shaped. Every control fell exactly where my fingers wanted it to be and was logically placed for sensible use. I think they designed it from a picture of my hands... The R9 is basically the same and remains one of my favorite 35mm SLRs. I killed the idea when I looked at how much it would cost to assemble a Leica R + four-five lens kit. Yikes!
