What, you don't like the Hunchback of Solms?

I've not been impressed by any of the R series bodies I've seen. The 
older ones are very much Minoltas (and while the MD mount bodies are 
competent, I've never much liked them) and the newer ones are just plain 
odd, and underfeatured compared to the equivalent Contax bodies. Combine 
that with Leica's seeming lack of any understanding of the SLR market 
(Why did they never have a lower-end body? Even Contax typically had 
low and mid range bodies to complement the RTS) and I wonder how the R 
system lasted so long.
