John Francis owns the FA* 250-600/5.6.. He's done excellent work with 
it and an *istD.  I believe his amazing shot of the race car that 
appears to be headed for a city street at the Long Beach Grand Prix was 
shot with that lens on the D. Ditto some of his airplane shots. I see 
no reason why it shouldn't perform very well on digital. Slightly over 
3K is a very good price.
