Paul I agree that it's a great scanner for the money. However, I often find the colors and exposure sometimes not to my liking. When this happens, I usually set the color wheel to zero and sometimes find it necessary to tweak the exposure somewhat. 2400dpi is really overkill for web images and even PUG entries. I usually scan at 1200 dpi, then resample to 600 pixels on the long axis and use "save for web" in PS. If and when you start printing, 1200 dpi is fine for 4x6, 1800 for 5x7 and 2400 for 8x10.
