HI Anand, Mine was the last one they had in stock so they reduced it from $995au to $499au. The salesman said it had been discontinued? It came with a 3 year warrantly also.
When comparing my slides to the scans i'm getting the colours are pretty close to whats on the slide. I will have a play around with them though, as i'm sure it could be improved. I have downloaded Vuescan, but have only had a quick look at it. Will do some testing comparing it to the HP software when i get a chance. I look forward to looking at the site you mention.
