I had the FA77 and now have the DA70. Reviewing the couple thousand pictures I have made with both, they are so close in sharpness, contrast, and rendering qualities as to be virtually identical. The biggest differences between them are due to the difference in focal length and its effect on rendering qualities at the same subject distances and lens openings. The DA70 has just a tiny bit more corner/edge light falloff when wide open compared to the FA77. By f/2.8 on both, it is just about gone and hard to tell them apart.
