I know what you're saying, and understand your point. Mono-theistic religions, to oversimplify it, essentially claim to represent, worship and honor their God. There are many religions claiming to follow the teachings of Christ. However by their teachings and actions, historical as well as present-day, it's obvious they do not. Their claim of "Christianity" is therefore false. In society at large, individuals can be punished for misrepresentation. So, I wonder what God thinks about those misrepresenting him.
