You only have to recharge the inks when you install one or more new ink 
cartridges or when you change from matte black to photo black or vice 
versa. I don't know how many prints a set of ink will yield. It depends 
on the colors in each execution. But I'd say I probably get at least 
thirty 8x10s. But I've never kept track.
