When traveling in the US for work, I frequently send clothes, roller
blades, and a tripod to my destination via UPS or FedEx. I take my
cameras as carry-on in a Pelican Case, and pack my flash, flash bracket
and umbrella in a check-in bag. Any use of photo equipment is only
peripheral to my job, so I take it with mainly to entertain myself. But
I'd hate to spend a month out of town without my cameras. Later this
month I'll be working in Mexico for an extended period of time. I'm not
sure if I want to take 5000 dollars worth of equipment down there. I'm
thinking I might just take an MX and two or three lenses. Does anyone
here have any experience in Mexico City? How secure are premium hotel
rooms? Are street muggings frequent?
