I think that comes from the perspective of the pro - he's looking to make 
money off it & has to be concerned with what other pros are producing. OTOH, 
if the image is simply for your own personal enjoyment - whatever floats 
your boat.

I think the fussiness of pros, especially the outdoor pros that I know, is 
one of the reasons their stuff sells as it does.
