Pick up a copy of "Real World Camera Raw with Photoshop CS2" by Bruce  
Fraser if you're going to go that route. It will save you weeks of  
fiddling around and you'll immediately be much more productive with  
your RAW file processing.

You should always archive your original exposures, whether JPEG or  
RAW. They're just like the slides or negatives out of your film  
camera. You always want to be able to go back to the original capture  
and start over with a fresh insight.
