I have a Bogen/Manfrotto. Here in the US it's called the 3018 (or 3218), IIRC. I'm not sure what the European Manfrotto model number is, unfortunately. I've found it to be really solid and useful. Mine is a three-section one (two joints). I generally use a Bogen/Manfrotto medium ball head on it. Works great, even with the Sigma 400 attached to the *ist D.
