Ken,

Glad to hear that all is well, I didn't even know you had a knee problem, so
I guess you handled it well. My job has me cutting the checks for these
procedures, so I feel safe in saying that I think you chose well with your
physician if he is pushing an aggressive therapy program. My guess is that
you'll be competitive on the high hurdles again before summer.

Paul is correct about the Ansel Adams exhibit at the DIA, I plan on seeing
it tomorrow, I hear that it includes the usual icons as well as some very
rare pieces little seen before. It runs to the end of May, I think Paul's
post was a typo. And, of course, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year is
back at the Zoo until late April. As always, it is superb.

I hope all else is well, and that you're making god use of your new found
leasure....

Subject: OT - 600mm FA or Knee - what's a photog to do ?

After hobbling around for the last several months on a bum right knee, I
finally had a complete new knew installed Monday morning. I figured if I
didn't get the knee, I'd probably never use the 600 again. I knew I had to
do something when I had to cancel a fall shoot in the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan.

Everything went well & I was home by Wednesday morning with the makings of a

fine 5 inch scar & some more reasons not to sail by airport security.
The Dr. I chose does around 800 of these a year (with his two assistants) -
he does the actual installation.

Should be back to some semblance of normalcy in around 4 to 6 weeks. The Dr.

is a sports medicine orthopedic & believes in very aggressive therapy. I had

4 pre operation therapy sessions and will start next week on 3 a week
sessions. I was up & walking within 4 hours of the surgery.
