I think it's also a matter of showing off the equipment in general.  
Photos that appear sharp with well delineated edges seem to please  
the Pentax folk. And, hell, it's their website. They are using it for  
promotional purposes. Their choices probably make sense to them.  
Although some calls made me want to holler, I bit my tongue. They  
apparently know what they want.
