Sounds like you bonked that drive hard. Good, fast 120G laptop drives for the PowerBook G4 systems are available for as little as $130 now, however, so I'd just replace it after verifying that the enclosure and hard drive adapter was in good condition. (Hmm. I should do an upgrade too. The 80G drive in my PBG4 is nearly full... the 120Gs now available are faster too.)
