Yes, the light was pretty good, I think it was late afternoon.

Correct, it was the right time of day, but I was on the 
wrong side of the canal, with the sun in fromt of me :-(

It was late afternoon actually, between 4 and 5 pm I guess ...

Well, that is just the geese, the grebe families and swans are 
even closer by, they live in the canals in my home town Almere ...

OTOH, you have photographers heaven B&H  almost arround 
the corner :-)   Been there once, on a business trip in 2000 ...

No problem, it is good to hear what people like and dislike
