That is because you are dealing with pro's. To them a tool is a tool, it 
is the amateurs with their so called pro cameras that are usually the 
snobs. It is a matter of oneupmanship and has nothing whatsoever to do 
with reality. I imagine there is a lot of it amongst amateur video folks 
with their pro-sumer video cameras sneering at those who have p&s 
camcorders as well.
