Supply has caught up with demand so vendors can no longer charge a

That could well be. That now we are finally seeing "street pricing."

At this juncture in the road, I am not willing to buy a K10D, I've decided,
until I can get more lenses for it. The 50-200 is on order with Adorama and I
suppose when it finally comes in they will send it. I don't know if I will
still qualify for the rebate though, unless I do because I "bought it" when
the rebate was still in effect. This dearth of lenses, the backordering
conditions I see everywhere (I was almost ready to buy the DA 40 until I
discovered
it was now backordered) seriously concerns me. It makes switching systems a
much less attractive proposition. So I will wait and see what happens.
