768MB ram I assume (256+512) :) Well, adding USB2 usually consists in adding a new card inside the PC (near graphics connection usually). You should connect the reader to ont of those USB ports. NOT the usual ports neaar keyboard/mouse connections. Those are still USB1. The new card provides USB2 ports but only those are USB2.
