Thank you all for the responses. In summary:
On a K100d 1) do not use KAR (Konica Auto Reflex), while (Pentax) KA/Ricoh may be used; 2) Konica AR can be attached, but insecurely, for close focusing work and without the infinity focus; 3) Konica Hexanon lenses can be securely attached via a K mount extension tube; 4) avoid Ricoh K, PK/R mount lenses with a "P' setting on the aperture ring - they can become permanently attached to the Pentax bodies and cannot be removed without damage to the camera; 5) M42 can be attached with adapter, however, some non Pentax M42 lenses have open aperture metering cams that will interfere with proper mounting; 7) PK mount will fit; 8) Konica K is a different design from P/K, P/Ka. Now I looked at the Vivitar lens, and it reads on the side: Lens made in Japan M/MD, and the mount looks very much like the Minolta MC/MD mount on this page: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-99.html Are you aware of a method of using this for the K100d? This lens looks very desirable. ;-) Is there a knowledge base (sic!) or other web site about lens/adapters for the K-mount of these DSLR cameras? I looked at a lot of sites but have not yet found a systematic one in this topic. Thanks. Simon -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
