you never had an HDTV then, if you arent
seeing your show, films, and events, in HD,
then the replacement is already overdue no matter
what year it is. HDTV is not just improved analog
TV, its an entire order of magnitude better all
new system and viewing experience.

I base that calculation on the amount of time I have per week to  
watch DVDs... That's the primary reason for why I bought a television  
about two decades ago... Well, that and to catch up on Star Trek re- 
runs. ;-)

I'm on my third mind-sucker since then, they seem to be lasting about  
8-9 years each. Guess that means a new one is due in the next two  
years. Maybe I'll not bother when replacement is due...
