For the moment, I've standardized on Manfrotto heads with the RC2  
quick release system. Both my tripods and monopod are fitted with  
them, both camera bodies too.

But I know what you mean about the Kirk products. They're terrific. I  
have the BH-1 fitted with a RRS lever action QR clamp. I only went to  
the Manfrotto system because it is lighter weight and a little faster  
in use.
