=========== To get cheaper, you usually have to skip the display screen. I've used something called the X-Drive II for several years and found it quite reliable. I download from it like downloading from a card. They don't seem to make it anymore, but it seems similar to what you are considering. It beats having to buy a whole bunch of cards, and when one is out in the field it sure beats carting along a laptop.
