I don't think this is a viable option.  If you want long, you should 
look longer than 200mm without a TC.

I've heard good things about this lens.  I liked my 300/4 sigma.  The 
matched Sigma EX1.4x TC is very good.

Not sure what the max aperture is at 400 but I do know that it is a bit 
soft wide open and not super great at 500mm.  It is a better choice than 
the 170-500mm which is cheaper.
