By default, when Lightroom is set to do auto backup of the library,
it creates the backup in a Backups directory which exists in the same
directory as the library in question. The first time it is going to
do a backup, it puts up a dialog to ask where you would prefer to
store the backups and you can direct it to wherever seems appropriate
for your uses.

To reset where it is going to put backups, first in Lightroom choose
the preferences option to do a backup ONLY the next time Lightroom is
started. Then quit and go to the directory enclosing the library,
delete the Backups subdirectory and all its contents. Now start
Lightroom on that library and you'll get the dialog which asks where
to store the backups ... you can now set the location per your
preferences.

Remember to reset the auto backup preferences to reflect your desired
frequency for library backups afterwards.
