Being the owner of a DS, my main improvements would be:

1.-Faster AF, specially in low light. I have read mixed reviews about this in
the K10D. The last one, in photozone, is very positive though.
This one is my current biggest pain, really annoying sometimes. When I borrow a
350D, the difference is enormous in low light.

2.-Easier access to WB and metering modes (this last one already solved in the
K10D). I would put this last one in the Fn menu, and take out the flash modes,
that I don't use that much (or at least let me choose what goes in the Fn menu).

3.-Green Button: (not the same as the P&S one). In the Fn menu there are some
values in green (Auto ISO, Auto WB, single shot, ...) I would like to go back
to this settings (or others that I may choose) with a single button, so I don't
find myself shooting outdoors in tungsten mode, or shooting at ISO 800 when it
is not needed. This may be solved with a custom mode in the K10D, I think.

4.-Better resolution would be good, but I am not sure if I would trade it for a
worst high ISO behavior...I am afraid that this means a bigger sensor.

Regards,
Jaume

Asunto: Areas with Room For Improvement in Pentax DSLRs

In anticipation of many future models of Pentax DSLRs
I was wondering what you all think would be good
improvements compared to the models you have used so far?

I have only used the istDS but I would like to
see ( not necessarily in any order of desire) :

1. Full Frame Sensor
2. Ability to optionally lockout shutter button after each exposure with
K/M lenses until new meter reading is taken (until #3 is implemented).
2. Full Pentax K/M lens support ( open aperture metering with
conventional metered manual / continuous AE )
3. Disable shutter without memory card (unless #4 is implemented)
4. Some reasonable built in memory so at least some photos can be taken
without a memory card.
5. Much Higher Resolution ( 20Mp or more, especially if FF sensored )
6. Ability to do CA and geometery corrections on the fly in camera ( via
custom settings ) This
would slow down writing speed as it would probably require a RAW
conversion to 16bit TIFF but I think
it would be a good optional tradeoff.
7. Global Metering sensitivity adjustment in a buried menu
8. AF adjustment in a menu
9. More focussing screens available.

Probably many many more, those are just off the top of my head...
