Better start with the Canon EOS D30(their first in-house DSLR) and the 
EOS 30D (current semi-pro body). And the fact that Canon used the 5D 
name after Konica Minolta introduced the Maxxum 5D DSLR(which predates 
the EOS 5D by a short while).

The K10D/EOS 10D collision is much milder.
