That's good to hear ... I think it's better for the local shops if  
they keep themselves within competitive reach of the mail order  
vendors. Small differences are not a big deal, but 20% differences on  
large items are tough to sell as 'customer service'.

The local photo shop in Palo Alto (Keeble & Shuchat Photography) does  
the same thing for me on a regular basis, and gives me a professional  
discount on other sundry items as well.
