The problem Tim, is that no one ever said the sky was falling until I did
just now.
And I did it only because what was being discussed two tears ago, was
euphemistically termed "the sky is falling". Well if those scenarios were
analogous to the sky having fallen, then it looks like it has.
I honestly don't think our comments on this have one shread of impact as to
the outcome of the business dealings between Hoya and Pentax.

I've been reading this debate only briefly, so I may be repeating somebody
elses arguments.
Basically we have a sitution where Pentax as we know them, may or may not,
go down the drain.
Hoya has probably (we don't know this for a fact) said something about the
image division not being very strong, because they have to go outside the
company for electronics. This may be or may not be a signal that they
intend
to get rid of the division.
But one very likely explanation is that they want to weaken Pentax before
taking them over. There are probably negotiations going on. Basically they
are speaking money. So making statements like this is the only reasonable
thing to do at this stage of the process. Because Hoya wants a make a good
deal.
If, they takes over Pentax, I imagine the first thing they do is to go out
in public and praise the same company that they have just claimed to be
weak. Because, then, they are in a competly differnt situation.
So, in this situation: Every time we repeat "the sky is falling", here in
public, we makes Pentax a bit weaker towards Hoya.
