Hi every one!
Is there any one on the list who owns (or used to own) a Pentax K 400mm f5.6? If there is I would be so obliged if you could tell me some things about it, namely, how sharp it is wide open, and whether or not it has noticeable CA (wide open). I have found one relatively cheap ($325 Canadian) and, with the money in my pocket at the moment, I'm sooo tempted. I'm looking for a longer (than the 200mm I have) lens for bird photography. What I'd really like is a 300mm f2.8 or one of those old 500mm f4.5, but I have no prospect of a budget for that type of glass in the near future (unless one of you fine people has an old one that you'd like to sell at a good price to a good cause :-) ). Would any of you be able to recommend (or recommend against) some thing in that price/focal range? Thanks for your thoughts, Francis PS If you have any thoughts on my (much updated) photo website www.islandlight.ca that you would like to share, I would feel honored to hear them. -- Island Light photography www.islandlight.ca (250) 935-6785 PO BOX 241 Mansons Landing BC Canada -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
