Thatks a lot for being so patient with me. Most likely I am wording myself badly. And the symptoms are strange. They are 1. 1400 files grayed out and displayed as Missing Files. 2. Four folders are not displayed in Folders. The oldest among them are made 01.05.07. They are containing 887 files 3 The files displayed in Previos Import are old files dated 26.04.07
Thats a lot of crap. And I sure don't want to restore it maually. If I do. I lot of tagging and convertion will be lost. I don't want to do anything at all, untill I have a trategy. I'm afraid I'll make it worse if I just mess around. After some thinking, I now beleave that Lightroom has loaded an old Library file. All symptoms points in that direction IMO. BTW I formatted the whole system a month or so ago. So 26.04.07 may be the date of the first import after reinstalling Lightroom. So I think the best strategy is to load a newer library file. But I'm not sure, if thats the right thing to do. And I don't know how to do it. If the files are shown greyed out it probably means the library has an entry for the photo, but it can't match it to the corresponding file on your disk. Have you renamed your files or folders, or remapped the drives outside of Lightroom since you last used Lightroom? To make it find missing files and folders, right click on a folder name. From the menu choose Check for Missing Photos and Folders. Lightroom looks for the files which correspond with the entries marked as missing, and recreates the link. Or you could try opening the file from Lightroom - it prompts you if it can't find the matching file.
