I don't use filters all that often, but a polarizer and a deep ND  
filter are useful to me once in a while and worth having available.  
Somewhere around here I have an old square filter holder (Ambico? I  
think) and some grads that I used to use a lot ... I really should  
dig them out and put them to use.
