As part of a project I'm working one I found myself needing high 
resolution scans of some of my medium format stuff -- higher than the 
1125 dpi of which my trusty Minolta Scan Multi II is capable. No 
problem: As a member of Pittsburgh Filmmakers I have access to their 
digital lab and its Nikon Coolscan 9000. Medium format at 4000 dpi!

Well, let me tell ya, the 4000 dpi certainly is impressive, but it's 
the DMax that knocked my socks off! My, how technology has moved on 
since my Scan Multi rolled off the production line :)

Oh yes, the digital dust & scratch removal is nice too!. Between that 
and the vastly improved shadow detail, I'm spending much less time in 
post-processing getting images to look the way I want them to.
