My wife used to have an A10 - finally lost it. I replaced it with the A30. From a usage perspective, the A30 is much quicker in operation. If that is the basic model you are considering, I would opt for the A30 over the A10. One big thing to remember is that these are little cameras and will not do as well as an SLR. So for the purpose my wife has, it is perfect. She want a very small camera that can fit in her purse. And she wants a pretty good video mode. That is one good area on the A10/30 - it is Divix and mpeg4 so pretty good quality and much smaller footprint. Also, the shake reduction works for the movie mode.
