----- This is clearly a defective sample. Check the test on Photozone, Pop Photo's test of the Samsung version, and the experience of nearly everyone who owns this lens. Incidentally, I don't own the DA 50-200 and don't have a vested interest in it. I did have access to one and (as I posted here a couple of years ago) tested it systematically (tripod, RAW, subject a mud-brick wall, PS) against my SMC F 70-210. They were nearly identical in optical quality. The old F 70-210 was very slightly better on the majority of comparative tests, but not all, and it took Actual Pixels to see the difference.
