I had a Ist*Ds before. But after about 7000 pics the little black wheel to zoom (in preview mode) or to adjust lightning settings (in imaging mode), turned mute. I could turn, and the camera did not; not always, or wrongly, respond. Sent it to be repaired but the problem remained/returned.
So now I've got a brand new K10d camera with battery grip, so alltogether there are three wheels like that. They can take over each others functions. Or, at least, not all the zooming and adjusting activity is going through one small wheel. Let's say I have spread the risk. A new one may be needed after no less than 21000 images.
