My primary motivation was to get to a situation where I had two digital
SLR's. A film SLR makes a poor backup option for a single DSLR. Not
only do you have to carry around the film, but due to the crop factor
and DA lenses, you have to add lenses to cover the same effective focal
lengths. I'm also reluctant to buy two of any DSLR at this point, since
the technology is advancing so fast.

The 10 megapixels, shake reduction, and build quality really sold me on
the K10D. After getting it, I really appreciate the faster AF, save
speeds, and other enhancements.
