Now it is time for a serious reply ;-) Congratulation Bruce :-D Don't worry, I'm Harmless.
I'm very curious about this lens, but so far, the info I've found on DPR and other places has been worhtless. In the weekend I was official photgrapher at a local rock festival. Two days of 20 gigs. A lot of work, but also a lot of fun. http://malakoff.no/images/galleri/galleri.html first 5-10 shots from each gig are mine. I mainly used the Sigma 18-50/2,8 and the FA* 85/1,4. The 85 did a very good job. But the AF at the Sigma was way to slow to catch the action after dusk (also a bit too soft wide open). Most of the concerts was "three first songs only". I shot very close, and missed many good poses because of slow AF. So, what is your impresions of the low light AF so far? I'm also curious the "feel" of the lens (the feel of zooming, and the feel of manual focus). I picked it up about 2 minutes before the shop closed. Unfortunately, it was too late to do much with it. I have put it on the K10D and played around with the SDM and general zooming. If anyone has any questions, let me know - what I can't tell you yet is my impression of image quality. That will have to wait until at least tomorrow. -- Bruce Monday, August 6, 2007, 5:09:57 PM, you wrote: TØ> In this case, to distinguish between hate and loath is just accademics.
