None of the work I do with a flash unit requires any kind of  
dedicated operation, so I use a Sunpak 383, a Nikon SB-30 and a pair  
of Paterson EFlash panel strobes. Along with a good flash meter, a  
remote cord, etc. ;-)

But yeah: if you're going to want to use the dedicated capabilities,  
stick with the Pentax flash units.
