Bad analogy I think, there may only be a 30% cost increase in the guts required to support the 6MP CCD over the cheaper camera that you cite. If as it were the Pentax FF digital were built on the MZ-S frame (which is now obviously a full production model) then realistically they may be able to deliver the 6MP camera at $3K or better?
