I decided to drag my Vivitar solid cat out for some big bird shots.
Unfortunately the big birds weren't cooperating. The only ones I saw
were a couple of Cormorants, (not all that big and this group of
Egrets). They took off just after this and flew into full sunlight. In
those exposures they were totally blown out, (got to work on exposure
compensation some more),. As a second aside, the solid cat is pretty
good, but I really need a stove pipe for a hood when I use it on an
digital  body.

Equipment Pentax *ist-Ds/Vivitar vmc 600mm Solid Cat f8.0

===========
Contrast too high (in other words, right re full sun, they are too white for
good shots  in full sun).
