Film gates are not the issue, where crop factor is of some consequence
is in panorama production. The pano package benefits from having a
good approximation of the taking lens's AOV in order to predict where
matching control points lie in adjacent images and the final images
actual AOV prior to optimization. Or you can just let it all happen
automatically but you do get slop ;-)
