Oh yes, I've known Tom Rolland for a decade or more. He used to be on  
my euro-moto list, but I think he is on the bevelheads list only now.  
I've been the admin/owner for the euro-moto list since about 1998. :-)

Hmm. That seems an expensive way to do it. Given that they really  
need so very little maintenance, it would make more sense to me to  
just pull the heads and check the clearances/condition of the split  
rings every 20K miles or so. Unless you're racing...

I always did my own maintenance on all my motorcycles. Funny: the "oh  
so difficult" to maintain Ducati desmo valvegear was always the least  
amount of work to service...
